What's an archeologist?

I can't sleep. This blog is dedicated to my kindergartners. All of these quotes are real, the names have been changed to protect the identity of the speakers:

"Mrs. Youngberg, Julie said hi to me. I think you need to take away her recess."

"Mrs. Youngberg are you black like me?"

"Mrs. Youngberg what's John? Is John a boy or a girl? I never can remember?" (asked about the boy in my class with long hair)

"My mom makes things and then sells them on ebay so that we can be rich and go to John's Incredible Pizza every night!"

"Mrs. Youngberg, Sarah told on me and I told her I wouldn't let her come to my party if she did."

"Yesterday, when I was three my Grandpa and me had a birthday party together. He's dead now though, because that was a long time ago and now I'm almost six."

Me: "Why do you think the boy in the story is so shy?"
James: "He's not shy, he just knows all the other kids have germs and he does not want to get their diseases, so he stays away from them."

Gabe: "Mrs. Youngberg, Chris called me a bad word."
Me: "Really what?"
Gabe: "It's the worst word you can say, so I can't tell you. I'll get in too much trouble."
Me: "you won't get in trouble"
Gabe: "He called me gay."

Me: "Chris did you say a bad word?"
Chris: "No, I just asked GABE if he wanted to play with me, then he ran and told on me. I don't know why."

Andy: "Mrs. Youngberg where is the principal's office?"
Me: "Why do you need to know?"
Andy: "because I think I want to go there today."

Me: "We get to do first grade math because you are all so smart, you finished all the kindergarten math."
Andy: "If we finished all the kindergarten math can't we just quit until next year?"

And my personal favorite:
Andy: "When I grow up I want to be an archeologist and a teacher."
Steven: "What's an archeologist?"
Andy: "I don't know but they get to carry a whip and a gun."

I want to be an archeologist in California. That sounds fun.
I'm glad you're using your blog. More pictures of Hailey, please.

Those are AWEsome quotes. I have 'unbelievable' quotes from work - but they're more to make fun of people not thinking, rather than to enjoy youthful innocence :-) You and Carrie have all the fun
