Bookworm!

Hailey loves books! She "reads" all the time. Since last October she has been obsessed with books. At first she would always read them upside down but she seems to have finally figured out which way a book should go. She also used to close the book and reopen it as a means of turning the page but about a month ago she figured out how to turn the pages. She "tracks" the words and babbles with inflection. It really sounds (and looks) like she is reading in another language. It is the cutest thing ever, I will have to try and get video of it. She also has these small books that she always carries with her, even as she crawls. We have TONS of pictures, but I'll spare you that. Here's just a few:

Juice boxes! She actually has figured out how to use a straw. I would never let her have one unsupervised though, I don't trust her that much.


On a totally unrelated note, look at the cake I made:

Dark chocolate cake with raspberry whipped cream filling and chocolate ganache. The whole thing is one 100% homemade (seriously, I even crushed and seeded the raspberries and made the whipped cream!) and 100% Alex disapproved. It is delicious! (Alex even broke down and ate a piece.)

Ontario Reign vs Utah Grizzlies

Saturday we went to a Hockey game. It was Hailey and my first. It was the Ontario Reign vs the Utah Grizzlies, aka Kristi vs Alex. Yes, we were cheering for opposite teams. It was really fun! I never thought I would enjoy a hockey game so much. The best part was the big fight the teams got into. Two guys started fighting and then everyone started beating on each other, it was AWEsome! At the end they were tied, went into overtime, and then a shot out. And the winner was... ONTARIO! Yep, that's right, more proof that California sports teams are superior to Utah teams! :P

Hailey was really into it too! She even cheered, booed, and clapped along with the crowd. But it really wore her out!

10 Months!

These are not Hailey's best pictures. She did not seem to happy to be taking pictures again. She's so cute though, that they still turned out good.

The best two years!

Today is Anniversary number 2 for Alex and I. It has definitely been the best two years of our lives! It really has flown by though. Here are some highlights of the last 3ish years: (I don't think we've changed very much)
